Bengaluru: Traffic Police have issued 32 pulling vehicles after the owner failed to follow standard operating procedures such as repairing the camera in the past month.
Six staff have been suspended on various charges, including rough behavior with the public and raised money from motorists without removing a receipt.
There are 100 towing vehicles in 44 traffic police stations in the city.
Every vehicle gets a police station that is very different in 45 days.
Commissioner with Police (Traffic) BR Ravikanthe Gowda said a crane vehicle was found to work without the knowledge of traffic police in Jayanagar recently.
“In every vehicle, there must be an assistant sub-sector of the traffic police station concerned monitor the removal of the vehicle from the no-parking zone.
But this particular vehicle wanders in Jayanagar without ASI and interesting vehicles.
We have pulled back vehicles from services for investigation,” he said.
He said the staff were found to be rude to the public.
“Two of them were found to take money from the owner and release vehicles without receipts,” he said.
DCP (traffic-west) Kuldeep Kumar Jain said from 32 pulled vehicles withdrawn from services, 30 belonging to the division.
“Most of them do not have a camera in the vehicle.
Standard operating procedures (SOP) say one each camera must be fixed on the front and back of the vehicle, which can show the vehicle parked incorrectly.
But many of them do not have a camera.
