Police Bust Interstate Syndicate Syndicate

New Delhi: Delhi Police Special Cell has broken the illegal interstate firearms, with the arrest of two Haryana-based weapons suppliers, officials said on Tuesday.
The police confiscated 15 semi-automatic pistols and 30 cartridges of living from them.
Shakir (28) and Zunaid Khan (21), the two residents of Nuh Regency in Haryana, were arrested on Monday night.
Both of them bought firearms and ammunition from Khargone-cum-supplier manufacturers in Madhya Pradesh and supplied them to criminals in Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh for the past three years, police said.
They have supplied more than 400 firearms in Delhi-NCR for the past three years, according to the police.
Deputy Police Commissioner (Special Cell) Jasmet Singh said, “Our team has information about firearms trading by one such syndicate at Delhi NCR run by Shakir based Melat with others.” “With information on source-based and manual supervision, the syndicate members were then identified and on Monday, the Devender Bhati got a tip that would come at night near Surajkund playing the MB road, to give firearms and ammunition to one contacts Zunaid Khan,” DCP said.
Traps were placed near the place and Shakir and his colleague Zunaid Khan was arrested, said Singh.
The police have restored 15 semi-automatic pistols of 0.32 and 30 live cartridges from the duo.
When interrogated, Shakir revealed that he had bought a gun and cartridges from illegal firearms manufacturers in Khargone in MP.
He has joined the weapon trade syndicate about seven years ago, the officer said.
Initially, Shakir worked as an operator for someone for three years but then he developed his own network, DCP said.
Meanwhile, Khan told the police that Shakir had asked him to join the syndicate and help him in weapons trade, said Singh.
Shakir is used to get a gun from MP at a lower price and sell it to Khan with a little profit.
Khan further sold the same gun at a higher price to criminals in Delhi NCR and the countries coexist with above and Haryana, police said.
Shakir was arrested in 2013 in the case under ACT Act, police said, added that the effort was made to identify this remaining syndictive members.
