Police captured 12 kg of marijuana during vehicle checking

Thiruvananthapuram: In a big catch, Chiraykezezhu police on Tuesday arrested two men with around 12 kilograms of marijuana in their ownership.
The police identified the defendant as Riyas, 24, and Rahul, 24.
Both of them came from Pachalloor in this district.
The police said the catch was made during a vehicle inspection in Pergarazhi during early Tuesday.
The police intercepted their two-wheeled suspicion, and after checking out they found that the two defendants took 11,550 kilograms of marijuana.
The defendant told the police that they transported the consignment to be handed over to the mobile seller in the Chiraykezezhu area.
The police have launched the probe to find out individuals who should have accepted the contraband from the defendant.
They also confiscated two wheels where the defendant was traveling.
The police said marijuana who was confiscated from the defendant was worth around RS 5 Lakh.
They bought marijuana at low rates of Rs 5,000 per kilogram from Andhra Pradesh and sold it at Rs 40,000 per kilogram.
Riyas and Rahul were customary violators who were arrested for similar charges in the past.
They were also involved in other criminal cases such as attacks and caused injury.
They are produced before the court and are returned in judicial custody.
The young man desired in the chain casing was held: Vilappilsala police have arrested two young men suspected of being behind the case of back-to-back chain which was reported below the aryaad and vilappilsala police station on September 15.
The police identified the defendant as Arjun from Malayinkezhu and Ajesh Lal, 22, from Maranalloor.
Their arrest was recorded on Monday.
Police Vilappilsala said that the duo was arrested for winning a chain with a heavy sovereignty from Sujana (22) from Toravila, in Mulawayara near Vilappilsala.
They were tracked and arrested after an inquiry based on checking visual camera supervision.
After the arrest, the young people admitted that they were behind winning 1.5 sovereign gold chains from Shailaja (42), an Asha worker, in Mepppattumala near Vellarada on the same day.
They said that they first made an effort failed to win a chain in Neyyar on September 15 before committing crimes in Meppattumala and Mulayara.
