Thiruvananthapuram: The latest decision of the state government to appoint Y Anilkant as the Chief of Police (SPC) replaced the art of allegations of Sudesh Kumar and ADGP (training) B Sandhya had surprised many in the police brotherhood.
Many of them expect Sandhya to be a natural choice of the government as the next SPC.
The absence of Sudesh Kumar and Sandhya were recorded by all who were not only during the cost of the ceremony but also for informal farewell and dinner functions held by the IPS association for the Head of Loknath Behera at the College of Police Training on Wednesday night.
Even though Tomin Jacankary also did not exist during the ceremony giving the ceremony, he participated in the online farewell function.
According to the list of gradations of IPS officers, seniority officers selected for the SPC post in a decrease is Sudesh Kumar, Sandhya and Anilkant.
The state has four DGPS posts approved by the current center, two of which are cadres cadres and two posts of former cadres.
Until Wednesday, four officers in the rank of DGPS, in their senior order declined was Loknath Behera, Rishi Raj Singh, Tomin Jacankary and Sudesh Kumar.
With Behera pension, the next person who automatically increases to the DGP level is Sandhya, which is replaced when the anilkant is chosen as SPC.
Even though Sandhya was passed when considered for a height to the DGP ranking because the SPC selection, the officers would increase to the rank on July 31 when Rishi Raj Singh would retire from the service.
This was for the first time in the history of the state police that an officer was replaced while giving the rank of DGP to Junior Officers.
“But it has been done for sincere reasons because the government is in full rights to choose one from the list of officers prepared by UPSC, regardless of their seniority.
Previously, the state has strictly followed the principle of seniority while providing the rank of DGP to officers,” said the source Top source of police.
Meanwhile, the demand for state police to increase the number of DGP posts in the fourth state is waiting before the center.
This means that if approved by the center, there will be eight DGP effectively in four countries in cadres and four in the number of posts of the same cadre.
However, police sources said that it could not be removed.
