Mumbai: Turning to the rider’s houses with Namastistes and a smile to restore the delayed fine e-challan has helped the Mumbai Traffic Police sweep more than Rs 1 Crore in almost three weeks.
The total pending fine is run up to RS 300 Crore.
Among the big names that clean up their contributions are leading former Cricketer, who pays Rs 10,000.
“We arranged the top 25,000 list, some of them have not paid a fine running to several Lakh Rupees.
Two police officers from each of our traffic divisions were chosen themselves and trained before sending it to the door to the door,” said the commissioner together, traffic, traffic, Yashasvi Yadav.
“We have drilled it to our staff who are polite while visiting people’s houses is very important.
They must overcome the rider as ‘master’ or ‘bu’,” he added.

Each policeman wore a body camera, carrying a walkie-talkie and told the driver every time their conversation was recorded.
“In a slum bag, there is a possibility that our people mock or accused of demanding bribes.

People are shown photos of their violations and are given the opportunity to clean up contributions in place – through credit / debit cards on e-challan or online machines.
They also explained that non-payments could result in this case to go to court and their SIM was canceled.
“About 70% have paid in place.
Some promise to pay in one or two days.
Almost everyone asks how they can check their contributions in the future and are asked to download the Mumtraffic application,” said an officer.
Some police told a warm experience during a visit from door to door as thanked or offered a cup of tea.
“In the company’s office in Dindoshi, the manager not only cleans the company’s vehicle contributions, but also get his subordinates to pay a fine on their private vehicle,” said a police officer.
But there is hiccup too.
In some cases, e-challans turned out to be incorrect because the manufacturing number or registration of vehicles captured on the camera did not match the driver.
In other cases, the previous vehicle owner finally got Challan when selling vehicles, ownership had not been transferred.
The department tries to broadcast these problems.
The Door-To-Door campaign is planned to add to the effort “call center” which operates out of traffic police headquarters.
Through telephone reminders, the Call Center staff had managed to collect Rs 20 Crore in three months.
