New Delhi: Delhi Police have introduced a phonetic keyboard with Hindi’s sound typing facilities on the network and a criminal tracking system and system (CCTN) to investigate officers to record electronic work verbally on the electronic database.
The system, as a pilot project, has been launched at all New Delhi police stations and the northern district of Force.
This will be launched in all police districts immediately, they said.
The police also said that this was the first of its type of system innovation that had occurred in the northern Indian Hindi spoke.
With this technology solution, now the investigation of officers (iOS) will be able to speak and record their work electronically using a phonetic keyboard, issuing dependence on Hindi or coercion typing to record the Hindi version in the English alphabet, Delhi Public Relations officer Baljamwal said.
This will bring efficiency, accuracy and transparency in investigative work, he said, adding technology to be introduced at CCTNS by Commissioner Rakesh Asthana.
Under CCTNS all investigative works began with Lodging FIR, writing diaries and sending chargesheets carried out throughout the country.
This phonetic keyboard system has been developed and executed under the Special Commissioner of Police Supervision (Technology and Implementation) Muktesh Chander, police said.
Until now, police personnel, especially iOS, have difficulty operating CCTNs in Hindi for official work such as writing firs, diaries, final reports because very few personnel are adept at typing.
They must often seek the help of professional Hindi data entry operators, said Balis.
In addition, the system does not accept Hindi scripts and even Hindi words, and sentences must be written in English scripts, he said.
“However, the newly developed procedure is fast, easy, and artificial intelligence (AI) based.
Dictionary of traditional Hindi / Urdu words, which are often used in police work, has been added to the convenience of users,” Balwal said.
“This system captures Hindi and Urdu’s words only and saves the same thing in the database, so as to expand the vocabulary to include all the words and syntax used in police work,” he said.
The system will increase the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of the function of the police in terms of maintaining the right notes digitally, said Bal.
