Faridabad: In an effort to ensure salvation for women, Faridabad police launched Majnu operations on Thursday to fight crime and crack down.
“The female police wearing civilian clothes are placed in public places to monitor the perpetrators and then transport them to the nearest police station for further investigation,” said a police officer.
The teams were deployed for two hours on Thursday, which resulted in the arrest of five people, including a student, who harassed women on the streets.
In accordance with the police, those people gave not asked to be asked for women.
Three men were arrested near the Sarai metro station and two near the park in the Nit zone.
“The defendant was taken to the police station and their parents were told.
However, they were abandoned after they apologized before their parents.
In such cases, those who have a history of such crimes will be arrested,” the officer added.
At the launch ceremony, Police Commissioner met Durga Shakti Vahini in Ballabgrah, Nit and Center contingent and discussed the methods to ensure women’s safety.
The operation began in the three zones from Thursday.
While praising a female officer, the police commissioner also admitted Maya, a female police Durga Shakti Vahini, for its extraordinary performance in the Ballabgarh zone.
The female police in civilian clothing will have a spy camera and reserve team for their rescue.
Police will be placed outside the park, metro station, college, school, mall and college fees.
“The plan is to curb crime against women and for that purpose, we have taken this step.
We want women safely in their neighborhood so they can move safely anytime.
The late night traveling should not be a problem for them,” a spokesman said Faridabad police.
Operation Majnu is a long-term operation that was previously praised for “innovative” efforts to combat teasers and trackers in Delhi.
However, activists often expressed their concerns regarding the operation that said that on behalf of the safety of women, moral policing was being carried out.
