LOS ANGELES: Los Angeles Police Fatal shot a 14-year-old girl in the clothing store clothing room Thursday when they opened fire on a suspect who had attacked a woman before, the authorities said.
The police also killed suspected men, said the authorities.
He and the girl had not been named.
The woman who had been attacked was taken to the hospital with a medium injury to serious.
The shot was fired at around 11:45 a.m.
at the Burlington store – part of the chain previously known as the Burlington Coat Factory – in the North Hollywood area in San Fernando Valley.
The police initially responded to someone’s report which was attacked with deadly weapons and a fired shot report, said Los Angeles Police Captain Stacage Mantra at a press conference.
Mantra said officers opened fire when they saw the suspect attacking others.
The suspect was beaten by the officer’s bullet and was killed, said Spell.
One of the bullets went through the wall of the dressing room and crashed into the 14-year-old girl, according to the Head of the LAPD Dominic Choi Assistant.
The officer then found it inside.
“You can’t look into the dressing room and it just looks like a drywall wall,” Choi said at the second press conference.
The investigator did not know whether the teenager was in the dressing room before violence began or ran there to hide, he said.
The California Justice Department is investigating the shooting, the Attorney General Rob Bonta said.
Choi said the authorities did not know the man’s motive or did he know the woman he initially spooky in the store.
Spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department Nicholas Prange said that women had a moderate injury to being serious and transported to the hospital.
It was not immediately known if he was shot but Choi said he suffered an injury to his head, arm, and his face.
The police found a heavy metal cable key near the suspect they said might have been used in the attack.
Mantra said the injured woman was the victim in the first attack report.
Not immediately clear what weapons were involved in the attack.
He added that the police had received a call about the suspect who acted uncertain before the incident.
Imelda Garcia said his sister worked at the store and was a break when he heard gunshots and everyone began to run.
Garcia said he talked to his sister on the phone and he was fine but sounded “really nervous.” The police escorted the people from the store almost two hours after the shooting.
The shooting remembered July 21, 2018, a confrontation in which LAPD officers accidentally shot and killed a woman in the Joe trader market.
The officer experienced a shootout with a man authorized to say his grandmother and his girlfriend before leading the police by chasing the end when he crashed into his car outside the market.
A police bullet killed Melyda Corado, 27, the assistant shop manager, when he ran to the entrance to the store after hearing a car accident.
The suspect, Gen Evin Atkins, took employees and hostage buyers for three hours before surrender, said the authorities.
Atkins had claimed to be innocent for the murder.
The prosecutor found two police officers acted legally when they returned Atkins’s shot.
