Dibrugarh: Police Dibrugarh served legal notifications to all Secretary General of Assam (AASU) after clothing observed Bandh District 24 hours on Sunday, in protest against alleged atrocities and detention of several members on Saturday night.
Bandh starting from 5 am on Sunday, after 15 members of Aasu were arrested on charges of attacking members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), leaving several injuries, on the calculation day of the student’s body selection at Dibru College on Friday.
The notification, which was signed by Dibrugarh SP Shwetank Mishra, was presented for Sankor Jyoti recently below the 152 part of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC), 1973.
They further warned him that if the bandh caused public damage or personal property or injury to any citizens , then the action under the prevention of damage to public property action, 1984 will be taken against it and damage will be found from Aasu.
Bandh agreed to a normal life in the district on Sundays because most of the shops and business tablecloths are closed.
It was also observed in the neighboring Tinsukia district.

Currently Christmas and New Year’s Eve is being celebrated in the district and various recruitment and academic exams are happening, there are every possible disturbance to the community in general and even violations of security law & orders because of bandh say, you here this ordered to draw bandh calls and work together in maintaining peace.
