Written by news2in

Bhubaneswar: Police Police, who used to only accompany their seniors to the crime scene in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, will now be made to take the main task of collecting crime exhibitions (samples and evidence) and send them for forensic tests.
At least 40 constables from twin cities have undergone special training in the proof of forensic and test crime scene.
“We want to improve professional skills and abilities in gathering forensic evidence of at least one or two police officers of each police station.
They are trained in the scientific method used for the collection of evidence and data from the crime scene.
We taught them how to take photos of good scenes Crime, collecting fingerprints, footprints, blood, other body fluids, hair, fiber, and soil samples, among others, for the right forensic examination, “said Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi.
At present, a scientific officer and his team carry out a collection of forensic evidence of the crime scene.
Priyadarshi said trained police would help the scientific team in gathering forensic evidence.
He added that the right collection of evidence could cause better investigations and beliefs.
“Collection of timely and precise evidence from the crime scene before them (sample / proof) is damaged or destroyed is very important.
Sometimes, the experts of the Forensic Team achieved a late crime scene.
There may be an unprecedented situation, involving a series of theft or Robbery in different locations.
In such situations, it becomes difficult for forensic experts to achieve crime scenes on time.
Constable skills can be used in such cases, “other police officers said.
The police put aside conflicts of interest or work between police and forensic experts in such settings.
“Police training will ease the burden of forensic experts.
The police will work under the guidance of scientific officers and their team,” police officers said.
Constable concerned will send a crime exhibition to the state forensic science laboratory on time and collect reports.
The police will coordinate with investigative and laboratory officers about the progress of scientific examination.
