SRINAGAR: Police J & K on Monday said that he had asked for two Patriatch Hurriyat’s men who had died, Ali Shah Geelani to bury their father in the Srinagar grave in the middle of the night, far from public attention and order problems.
In a series of tweets from his official handle Monday night, said the Kashmir Zone police, “After the death of Sas Geelani, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar along with SP & ASP met his two sons at their residence at 11pm, begging for their burial & requested at night days for greater general public interest because of the potential of the main law and order situation.

“Some media reports have quoted the Geelani family as claiming that the police forcibly took his body and gave him a calm funeral , attended by very few people.
PTI reported the commotion at the residence of the separatist leader, but this was denied by the IGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar, who said “some personal interests tried to spread rumors at the Cemetery of Geelani which was forced by the police”.
According to one of the tweets on Monday, “IGP Kashmir personally spoke with several relatives and made sure they entered the geealalysis house”.
Three hours later, “maybe under pressure from Pakistan and criminals, they behave differently & start using anti-national activities, including the Packaging (The) Body Dead in the Pakistani flag, making sloganeering hard to support the people of Pakistan and incite neighbors to come out” , police said.
“After persuasion, relatives took the corpse to the cemetery and conducted the last ceremony by respecting the existence of the members of the Intizamia and Imam Committee members.

“You can fight with someone when he is still alive, but once he dies, you need to respect the body like everyone else,” he said.
