Srinagar: A policeman was shot dead by terrorists in the Batamaloo area of the city on Sunday, officials said.
He was identified as Constable Tausif Ahmad, they said.
“Around 8pm, terrorists opened fire on Ahmad’s constant jkp near his residence in SD Colony, Batamaloo,” added the officials.
They said the police were injured critically and taken to the SMHS hospital, where the doctor said he was taken dead.
This area has been recorded, and hunting has been launched to arrest the attacker, officials added.
Meanwhile, the National Conference (NC) condemned the attack.
