Chandigarh: Vehicle traffic on several state highways and nationally in Haryana came to a traffic jam after Lathi’s charged police protested farmers on Saturday afternoon at Plaza Bastara Toll Karnal to stop them from marching to the BJP state-level meeting place chaired by CM Manohar.

The meeting to discuss the strategy to be adopted for the election that has not been announced to Pancayati Raj Institution and local agencies in Haryana was attended by CM, BJP President of Op Dhankhar, Kanwar Tal Gujjar, Mool Chand Sharma, Kamsheh Dhanda, Sandeep Singh and several members Parliament and other MLA.
Thousands of farmers, carrying black and BKU flags, gathered in Bastara Toll Plaza from Saturday morning after the call was given to protest and show black flag to the leaders of the BJP country.
During the day, when the protesters tried to go to Karnal from the Toll Plaza, the police stopped them.
However, the farmers insisted on moving towards Karnal and tried to block the national highway 44, after that the police used Lathi’s charge to disperse them.
The agricultural group is estimated that around 10 farmers have been injured while Haryana police put the number at four.
Haryana Adgp (Law and order) Navdeep Singh Virk said 10 police officers were injured.
The police have arrested several protesters, including BKU (Charuni) President of Jagdeep Singh Aulakh.
CM Khattar defended police action and said it was illegal to block the highway.
He blamed the farmers for blocking the highway and pelting stones at the police.
Meanwhile, Viral videos, whose authenticity cannot be verified, indicates Karnal HR Ayush Sinha instructs officers to hit the protesters in their heads if they try to break the barricade.
