Kolkata: The Kolkata Traffic Police are contemplating the use of two-wheeled or tricycle which will be strong enough to attract a damaged vehicle and managed to stretch through the congestion of Jalan AJC Bose Road Flyover-Maa Flyover.
The police said the idea was discussed by the top brass in Lalbazar recently after several disorders, which occurred in the past two weeks, causing recurrent congestion or a slowdown vehicle.
The police said they were looking for a “out-of-the-box” solution that would allow them to put a vehicle breakdown in the middle of the Flyover Maa so that the vehicle can be pulled immediately.
The police insisted that this would be very useful during office time when more than 150 cars crashed into a minute every minute.
In certain days, witnesses stretch anywhere between two and four damage.
The source in Lalbazar confirmed that Vineet Goyal’s commissioner had spoken to the officers at last week’s meeting, asking them to submit all possible solutions.
“He gave a certain solution and one of them was the use of two-wheeled vehicles.
However, the headquarters had been assigned the task to decide on a cost-effective and long-term solution,” said a source attending the meeting.
The police hopes to practice improvement measures before the rainy season when damage usually increases.
“We have placed a tow truck in Pragati Maidan and near the 7-point Park Circus for this purpose.
