Mumbai: The city police recently arrested two of their cousins and uncles in the case of the theft of diamond jewelry and gold jewelry of Rs 1.90 Crore from a flat duplex on Jalan Bhulabhai Desai in South Mumbai.
One of the accused, Chandan Mukhia (21), worked as a domestic aid for a complainant, a businessman dealing with marbles, next to the residence of the theft occurred.
Chandan has been released from Arthur Road, this March as a de-jammed prison considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
Then, he got a job at a complainant house.
Others were arrested accusing Chandan’s cousin Chandan’s Bachchan Mukhia, 20 and their uncle Fulo Mukhia, 40.
All three were residents of Gotohitola Village in Darbhanga District, Bihar.
The robbery took place in the first week of July when the complainant with the mother, his wife and son had gone to Lonavala for a two-day picnic.
He told the police that he lived on the sixth floor of Duplex flats with his family while his mother lived on the seventh floor.
The two flats have the same ladder.
Cook the family will sleep in the kitchen on the sixth floor while Chandan, who recently joined, would sleep outside the flat.

The researcher found that the armor lock on the seventh floor was damaged using a hammer and screwdriver.
Chandan is also gone.
The police gathered information about the place of origin in Darbhanga and a team arrived there.
Chandan has thrown out his cellphone and his SIM card too.
The police found that he had bought a new telephone and took a new number.
“After asking questions for several days, we accused one accused.
He spilled beans about the role of other defendants.
Then, we traced and arrested them too,” said an officer.
To avoid the police, the defendant has maintained stolen jewelry in two polythene bags and bury them underground near their house, police said.
So far, Jewelry worth Rs 1.50 Crore has been restored.
During interrogation, Chandan told investigators that he previously stole a key and used it on theft day.
He opened the door from the sixth floor while the cook fell asleep in the kitchen.
Then, he went to the window and from there rose on the seventh floor flat and stole jewelry from the closet.
After leaving from there, he, along with Bachchan, take a taxi and go to Kurla LTT and take the train to Bihar.
“There were seven previous theft cases registered with their uncle, Fulo.
In addition, Chandan was arrested in a case where he stole Worthy Jewelry Lakh Rupee from the previous Flat Employer in Tardeo.
He was sent to Arthur Road Jail but immediately woke up,” the officer added .
During the probe, the police made a surprising discovery.
They found that all the defendants had one jeep, two tractors, one bullet, two bikes, sports bikes and three houses in Bihar.
