Police Mysuru publishes notifications to track ‘missing’ strangers

MySuru: Circular Searchout for tracking foreigners ‘missing’ has been issued by city police.
Nearly two dozen citizens remain untrained, according to records.
While some have filed other people have not updated their visas and passports.
Efforts to track these citizens from countries such as Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Tanzania, Yemen and Ukraine by police have been in vain.
As many as 33 foreigners in Mysuru have sent or their passports have expired.
From them 11 including children tracked.
Foreign national was arrested for accusations of drugs and returned to trial detention while some others have given a legitimate reason for delays in updating their passports.
The rest still can’t be traced.
The movement to track foreigners came after the National Congo, which was arrested for peddling drugs in Bengaluru, allegedly died in police custody.
Chandragupta, Police Commissioner, Mysore City, was confirmed to the Toi that foreigners who lived in Mysuru about the study, work or tourist visa was being verified.
“Since circular for 22 that cannot be violated has been issued and the details have been distributed by the Office of Foreign Regional Registration Officers (FRO), airport authorities, and our colleagues in other countries.
They may also leave the country,” he added.
Registration of foreigners was carried out in Bengaluru and the details were distributed with the local police.
“It’s hard to track them when they keep moving from one place to another.
Although there are options to update their records online some haven’t done it yet,” said a police officer.
Meanwhile, the Police Inspector has been directed at verifying details of all foreign nationals in their respective districts.
Yoga teachers and homeowners are asked to provide details of foreign nationals.
