Chennai: The police on Wednesday arrested three men in connection with a series of robbery in North Chennai.
Based on their confession, the team recovered five stolen and 18 cellphones.
Officers tracked the movement of Veera Perumal from Madurai, Harun Pudupet and Kishore from Washermenpet using CCTV camera footage to capture them.
The judge’s court sent them to prison on Wednesday.
Following a series of robbery, Deputy Deputy Washermenpet Police R Shiva Prasad founded a special team led by Crime Wing Inspector Yamuna.
While one team monitors suspicious movements using CCTV camera footage, other members work to track suspects.
They focused on them and conducted a preliminary operation at Stanley Hospital the government when the three men tried to escape.
However, they were arrested after a brief pursuit.
The question revealed that they were involved in the series of cellular theft in North Chennai.
When the suspects were questioned, they told the police that they had met in a Puzhal prison, where they were detained for a short time for various violations reported at a separate police station.
It was there they decided to join and go on spree after they were released.
DCP Prasad praised the team to successfully resolve this case.
