Police Nagpur get 921 emergency calls in 9 hours on New Year’s Eve

Nagpur: City Police Control Spaces receive 921 emergency calls from residents in trouble or those who want to report crimes in a range of nine hours on New Year’s Eve.
About with 62% (or 574) from this call came between 10pm and 2 in the morning.
The police claimed to have responded in less than five minutes for each call.

The strength of 375 traffic police from 10 zones under the Awad Nest DCP was armed with two interceptor vehicles and kept an eye on the pora party.
Traffic police ordered 3,546 riders and motorists, which were almost 1,000 more than other days, for various violations.
The maximum violation was reported in and around MIDC, followed by Kampee.
Among those ordered was 2,163 two-wheeled riders for driving without helmets.
Each fine of RS500 is imposed on them.
The driver faces a suspension of a driving license for three months.
Two fatal and three small accidents were reported on New Year’s Eve.
Responding to emergency calls, the police rushed to intervene in the fight, rescue, and hurriedly injured for medical racers, preventing crime or managing monsters that are difficult to arrange and various routes and venues collected.
Amitesh Kumar City Police Chief said the police had to be upgraded after midnight when the 112 call suddenly began to rise.

He quoted a telephone call from Chunabhatti where the police from Ajni and Dhantoli reached at the same time.
Kumar said the police’s visibility increased and the police only intervened where needed.

In the first case, Ramrao Wange, 87, was killed in a hit-and-run case at RPTS Road.
In other cases, Lalchand Gopani, 57, was killed after a light carrier vehicle outside the control.
The vehicle damaged the car and a scooter before hitting the gopani on Jaripatka.
