Terre Haute: West Indiana police officer was a fatal shot on Wednesday when he was ambushed near the FBI office in Terre Haute, according to federal officials.
Sgt.
Ryan Adamson from the Terre Haute Police Department identified officers as a 30-year veteran detective Greg Ferency.
FERENCY has become a federal assignment officer since 2010, the FBI said in a statement.
“ A FBI agent shoots and hurts the suspect who is currently in detention receives medical attention at a local hospital, ” said the FBI in a statement Wednesday night which also indicates the ferency is “ ambushed ‘in the Indianapolis FBI population.
The shooting incident was being investigated by the FBI inspection division, according to the authorities.
`The process of a thorough and objective review and is done as soon as possible in the situation,” FBI said in the statement.
“The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving agents or members of the task force seriously.
“The shooting of the Ferrissy took place outside the federal office building behind the Vigo Court Building, according to the authorities.
“ Please take care of the Ferrissy family in your prayers, Adamson said in Facebook’s post.

“Law enforcement officials said the suspect underwent surgery at a regional hospital in Terre Haute.
The suspect’s name has not been released because the accusation has not been submitted.
