Police probe into filing lost complaints: Kerala Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George said that the police have launched the probe into complaints by the Director of Health Services that some files have been lost from the health directorate.
However, the Minister said according to a preliminary report, these files were very old and therefore did not need attention.
“These files are 10-15 years old.
The files originated before the establishment of a medical service company and at that time the purchase of drugs was made by the Directorate of Health Services,” he said.
Asked about reports that lost files included those related to the purchase of covid materials for hospitals, he said police investigations will find the right file details.
In controversy regarding the purchase of coivd materials and drugs at exorbitant prices without inviting tenders by Kerala Medical Services Corporation Ltd (KMSCL), the minister said the wing of financial inspection was asked to investigate this.
Serious accusations have been reported to KMSCL to buy drugs and material during a pandemic without inviting tenders.
There are reports that the purchase file made during the pandemic period has been removed from the computer.
However, it has now been reported that even files from the health service directorate are also lost.
Allegedly that this is also a file related to the purchase of drugs and other equipment for government hospitals.
Introductory investigations have found that at least 500 files have been found missing from the Directorate and search by staff at the Directorate to find them in vain.
It contradicts this background that the Director of Health Services has filed a complaint of the police.
