New Delhi: Timely Intervention by two Delhi police save the lives of an e-rickshaw driver who tried suicide who was worried about financial misery in southeast Delhi Nagar on Thursday morning, officials said.
The victim’s mother saw her son try to hang in his room and told the police who reached the place in four minutes, they said.
According to the police, Ramdas Sub-Inspector and Police Chief Mahender Singh rushed into the woman’s house.
They broke the locked room door from inside and found the man standing on a chair under the ceiling fan with a scarf wrapped around his neck and the other end was tied to a fan.
He will kick the bench but the police managed to save him.
A police officer holds his leg while the others opened a scarf, said the police.
After taking him down, the police asked him why he took extreme steps.
The man said his family faced the financial crisis and his mother wanted to sell his e-bick to make both ends meet, said a senior police officer.
He depressed about how he would survive if his vehicle was sold and tried to end his life, the officer added.
