Mumbai: The case has been registered against unknown people in connection with a bottle of gasoline found near the wall of the perimeter of Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, the police said on Friday.
Personnel from the Central Industry Security Force (CISF) noticed the bottle containing 50 mL of gasoline which was thrown near the wall on Wednesday night and told the city police, the official said.
CISF and local police rushed to the scene and found that someone had thrown the bottle as part of the rubbish debris near the wall, he said, adding that the team of bomb detection and disposal forces (BDDS) was examined and did not find something suspicious.
When the bottle was thought to originate from the nearby slum, the police had started the person’s search, who had thrown it, the official said.
A pine under section 336 (acting endangering life or personal safety of others) from IPC has been registered in this case at the Vakola Police Station, he added.
