Thiruvananthapuram: The police team investigated the alleged killing of Vinitha plant nursery staff had restored the golden chain that the killer had mortgaged.
The chain was restored on Saturday from a financial company at Anjugramam near Thovala in Kanyakumari District in Tamil Nadu.
The police have recorded the arrest of the defendant, Rajendran aka Rajesh, from Tamil Nadu the day before.
Police sources said they truly raced against time to go to Thovala and restore the gold chain, which might be the most important evidence in the case.
Jajendran’s arrest was recorded on Friday at around 4pm.
In accordance with the law, the police can store them under detention for only 24 hours, after they are required to produce the defendant in front of the court.
The defendant initially refused to work with investigations, spending their valuable time.
Finally, when he opened, the police decided to act quickly and restore the gold chain without further delays, because they were worried that the news about his arrest might ask anyone who had ornaments to avoid involvement in the case.
The court has sent it to police custody for one more week for further investigation.
Police intend to collect more evidence, including murder weapons, during the detention period.
