Ahmedabad: The police chief posted at the Paldi police station on Thursday morning allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the temple with a revolver at the police station at the police station.
The reason for the suicide is still unknown because the police found no physical suicide notes or digital notes on their cellphones.
Umesh Bhatia, 35, a resident of Gayatrinagar in Sarkhej, has worked as a writer of a head account with Paldi’s police for 11 months.

“On Wednesday around 7:30 a.m., he arrived at the Paldi Police Station, parked his car and went to his office.

Around 9:30 a.m., several personnel present at the police station heard gunshots from Bhatia’s office and rushed in.

“He shot himself in the temple and lay unconscious when we saw it.
We called the ambulance and they took him to the VS Hospital where he was declared dead,” another police said.
His family was told about his death.
His wife, Parul, along with two of their children, 10 and seven years, rushed to the hospital where they saw his body surprises.
Senior police officers, including DCP Zone 7 Premsukh Delu, rushed to the Paldi police station and began an investigation.
A team of forensic science experts was also called to the crime scene.
They recovered their cellphones and took another sample of the place.
The Paldi police registered an accidental death case and sent his body to Postmortem Panel in Asarawa Civil Hospital.
