Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said on Saturday that if the foreign element including the Taliban entered Kashmir, the police, soldiers and other security forces were ready to face challenges in a very professional way.
Overcoming a Joint Press Conference at the Victor Forces Headquarters in Awantipora Here, Kashmir IGP said the police had activated human and technical intelligence to find out whether there were foreign elements including the Taliban planning to infiltrate Kashmir.
“If at all such thing happened, I as a police officer convinced the Cashmir police community, the army and other security forces would handle professional challenges,” IGP said.
He was flanked by General Officer Commander from Victor-Force Bali based on South Kashmir Rashim Bali.
IGP Kumar replied to query whether security forces were ready to face the situation if the Taliban entered Kashmir.
IG Vijay Kumar said that there was input about several fresh infiltration offers and information about the same thing was being collected.
“The militants were killed in Bandipora recently infiltrated earlier this year,” he said.
The IGP said that terrorists after killing civilians and politicians took refuge in the forest.

“We will not track guerrillas in the interior but in the forest too,” Kumar said.
About the latest weapons consignment driven to Kashmir, he said until now there was no information available with the police about the latest weapons given to militants in the valley.
Goc Victor Force said that yesterday, an information was received by 42 RR after that the army with the police launched a search operation in the Tarsar-Marsar area from Tral in Pulwama.
“Today morning, contact was established and three militants were killed in tight battles,” he said.
