Coimbatore: City police will get 17 new patrol vehicles on Monday.
Pradip Kumar City Police Commissioner will submit a patrol vehicle to the respective police team.
At present, city police have 24 four-wheeled patrol vehicles.
“The government has improved that the patrol vehicle used for more than 10 years or 2.5 lakh KM closed must be sent to auction or memo.
More than 10 patrol vehicles have crossed more than 2.5 lakh KMS.
Some vehicles are in bad condition.
So , We decided to replace 17 old patrol vehicles with new ones, “said a police officer.
The new patrol vehicle has a GPS (Global Positioning System) connected to the modern city police control room.
The front wheel of the vehicle has disc brakes and all new vehicles have air conditioning installed in it.
Old white patrol vehicle, the new one will be red.
“The vehicle will be sent to the RTO Center (regional transportation office) for registration and registration work will be completed on Monday night,” the officer said.
