Coimbatore: The police chief under the suspension was arrested by Thudiangur police because he beat a customer in the restaurant run by him.
The police arrested had been identified as Kishore, 46.
He was placed under the suspension of seven months ago after the allegations appeared that he had received bribes from the massage center.
Police source said Kishore runs a restaurant in Thudiangur.
Saravanakumar, 38, from Kurüthasaga Nagar went lunch at the restaurant on December 2021 along with his friend, Deepak.
While Saravanakumar has ordered vegetarian food, it is served as a non-vegetarian.
Irked upon this, Saravanakumar questioned the supplier.
As a verbal fight occurred between them, Kishore intervened.
When Saravanakumar continued to argue with him, Kishore attacked him with his hand.
The glasses worn by Saravanakumar went bankrupt, causing bleeding injuries on his face.
Saravanakumar filed a complaint with Thudiangur police, but a case was not registered.
He recently met the supervisor of Police District S Selvanagarathinam and filed a petition.
It led to registration of a case and arrest of the police.
