Jhansi: A 23-year-old woman from Kannauj, who came to visit her relatives in Jhansi, had alleged that she was raped by a man on November 16 at the Chirgaon Police Station campus.
The defendant was posted here as a police officer, sent to prison on Monday.
In accordance with the complaint submitted by the mother of the woman at the Chirgaon police station here on Sunday, she has sent her daughter to Jhansi to take care of her recently conceived daughter-in-law.
His daughter-in-law lived near the Chirgaon police station.
He then stated in the complaint that the defendant, Gautam, who also came from Kannauj Regency, was posted as a police officer at the Chirgaon police station.
On November 16, he called the victim with the pretext of several questions and took him to his room on the campus of the police station and raped him.
Gautam also threatened the victim not to reveal the incident.
The victim then gathered courage and told the incident on Sunday for his mother, after that his mother filed a complaint.
Gautam has been ordered below section 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) IPC and has been sent to prison, police said.
In accordance with SSP Jhansi, Shivhari Meena, the victim had undergone a medical examination while his statement under Section 164 will be taken on Tuesday.
