Hyderabad: The State Government will soon emerge with a comprehensive sports policy for Telangana with a special focus on increasing sports infrastructure in the villages on the Odisha line, said Minister of KT Rama Rao.
KTR said that the sports association had become a ‘rehabilitation center’ for several politicians.
“I feel there should be no political interference in the body and sports associations.
I will also resign from my post in the sports association,” said Minister.
KTR is the President of the Badminton Telangana Association.
Expressing concerns over how children are outside the big open space, KTR said that most schools in the city did not have a playground and were running like poultry farms without space.
He said that it was very important to change this situation.
The state government has formed a cabinet sub-committee to prepare Telangana’s sports policy.
The panel consisting of KTR, Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud, Minister of Education P Sabita Indra Reddy and Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao held a meeting on Tuesday.
The panel will send a report to the State Cabinet immediately for approval.
In sports policy, there are suggestions about increasing sports infrastructure in Pancayat and the municipality, especially building stadiums and fitness centers in villages.
“We must focus on hockey, cricket and para-athletics regardless of other sports.
Officers must visit countries such as Odisha to see sports infrastructure,” Ktr said.
Companies must be charged to improve sports activities and establish personal sports universities must also be encouraged, ministers sided with the meeting.
They emphasized the need for better coordination between the sports agency and the government department by involving district collectors.
