Lucknow: Former Balkrampi Parliament Member of the Samajwadi Party, Rizwan Zaheer was arrested by the local police on Monday for the murder of the former Chairperson of Tulsif Nagar Panangzat Firoz Pappu.
Firoz Pappu was killed outside his home on January 5.
The police said that Rizwan Zaheer already had 14 criminal cases in his name including one case who called the National Security Law (NSA).
Balrampur police also arrested former Princess MP Zeba, his son-in-law Ramiz, raiding, Shakil and Mehfuz for their involvement in the killing Firoz Pappu.
The police supervisor, Balrampur, Hemant Kutiyal said that Rizwan Zaheer plans to serve his daughter Zeba from the Sawajawadi Party ticket in the upcoming polls but Firoz Pappu also observed the same ticket.
“Rizwan Zaheer, through his sources at the party, knowing that Firoz Pappu is likely to get a ticket when he currently has more presence in this region and his wife Khkasha is the Chairman of the Nagar Panchayat at this time.
Therefore, Rizwan Zaheer gets Firoz eliminated,” Kutiyal said.
