Vadodara: BJP’s decision to issue an official mandate for the selection of the highest university university – Senate – has fallen on his face.
Only two of the eight candidates, whose nominations were supported by the Won City Party unit, because the results of the nine seats registered graduate categories were announced on Monday.
It was for the first time the party issued an official mandate for the election which mostly remained a centric of the university.
The MSU Safron camp is referred to as ‘MSU Team’ which is contrary to the BJP City Unit on the other hand bagging four seats.
Congress hasn’t released any mandate.
But candidates related to the party bagged three seats.
Election for nine seats in this category where 27 candidates in Fray are held on Sunday.
With 6,428 voters from a total of 11,616 carrying out their voting rights, selection of voters was 55.34%.
When the results began to pour, supporters damaged crackers, dancing to Garba songs and DJs at the University’s head office.
Sitting Syndicate Members of Dinesh Yadav, whose names did not appear in the official BJP mandate even though it was an active worker, won by a 719 highest leader to represent the Faculty of Art in the University Senate Body.
Apart from Jadav, Advocate Avadhoot Sumant, AbhiLasha Agrawal and Vinod Patel supported by the MSU team won a poll to represent the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Family & Community Sciences and the Faculty of Performing Arts in the Senate.
BJP micro planning involving MLA, Corporators and the President of the Environment did not help win two important seats from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering (FTE) and the Faculty of Trade where President Vijay Shah’s party unit was personally involved.
All JP leaders who look actively involved in striking Sunday elections absent when the results arrived.
From FTE, Congress Leader Narendra Ravat defended his Senator with 785 votes defeating Kashyap Shah supported by BJP which bagged 697 votes.
Likewise, the former member of the Senate Amar Dhomse won at the Faculty of Trade by collecting 945 votes to beat Sushant Makhijani supported by BJP which bagged 288 votes.
Both Kashyap Shah and Makhijani were declared as a general candidate by BJP and ‘Team MSU’.
The only consolation for BJP and ‘Sanan Samitan’ is the victory of Hasmukh Shah from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Bipin Patel from the Faculty of Art.
Interestingly, members of the Senate sitting Joshi Kapil appeared as a giant killer.
Unlike some other candidates who have made complicated arrangements including food and drinks to keep their voters happy on election day, Joshi does not make such arrangements.
He, however, beat Arjun Solanki, whose nomination was supported either by BJP and ‘Team MSU’.
