Patna: Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP), the ruling NDA allies at Bihar, on Friday announced that he would oppose the Uttar Pradesh assembly poll to be held next year.
The National President of the Mukesh Party of Sahani, who is the Minister of Livestock and Fish Resources in Kumar Nitish Cabinet, said he would officially launch the Uttar Pradesh Party unit in Lucknow on Saturday before opening the party office in all state divisions.
Before leaving for Lucknow on Friday, Sahani said VIP would start preparation to oppose all 403 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
He, however, added that the exact number of seats to be contested by the party will be decided later.
“The members of the Nishad community have their presence of 160 elections in Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
VIP has not yet decided whether to oppose the poll in the Alliance with BJP or Go Solo.
“Because we are part of NDA in Bihar, our first preference is for contests in the Alliance with BJP.
However, we have opened all options,” Sahani said, adding NishAds and their sub-kastes was 14% of the total population in Uttar Pradesh.
