Coimbatore: Pollachi Lok Sabha MP Shanmuga Sundaram has written to Palakkad Division Railway Manager (DRM) who seeks to continue the train service in the Podanur-Kinathukadavu-Pollachi section.
In his letter to Trilok Kothari, Shanmuga Sundaram said the train service was not restored to end.
Four years after conversion gauges worked in this section even though Kinathukadavu and Polachi train station fell under the Palakkad train division.
Train services between coimbatore-rameswaram, coimbatore-tuticorin, coimbatore-madurai, coimbatore-kollam in coimbatore-kinathukadavu Dindigul parts are not restored after conversion of gauges.
Since then, a few feet over the narrowing of the bridge has been going on for almost three years at Kinathukadavu Station quoting Pandemic Covid -19, MP said the Palakkad train division must consider demand for train services that operate like this not new demands.
This train service is in the same part before the conversion gauge of the Sion Division in Tamil Nadu, MP requested adequate steps to continue the train service.
He also made an objection about the alleged effort by the train authority to close Kinathukadavu station by moving staff to other stations.
