Lucknow: The Future of First Minister Akhilesh Yadav will oppose the election of his first assembly from the Karhal seat in the Mainpuri District.
The decision was taken on Thursday night after discussing with party leaders.
Formal announcements in this case are likely to be made in the next few days.
The decision of SP’s head to jump to Medan approached the BJP heel which nominated the Yogi Aditentalath cm to oppose its first assembly selection of the Gorakhpur (urban) seat and Deputy Penanjas CM Keshav Prasad Maurya from Sirathu.
Political observer felt the decision was taken to blunt attacks from BJP over akhilesh who did not have a fist.
Source said various district units from the party had approached the SP head that invited him to fight for the election of their regions since talks about him took polls obtained by momentum, especially after Yogi’s nomination was completed by the BJP leadership.
Mainpuri District President Devendra Singh Yadav and Secretary General of Ram Narayan Bothham met Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday night with one such representation.
Head of SP has detailed discussions about carhal seats in meetings that last more than one hour.
Driven by SP’s head response, the two leaders immediately told the SP MLA from Karhal, Soban Singh Yadav, and MLC, Arvind Pratap Singh, about it.
Both of them reached Lucknow on Thursday morning to offer full support to SP head if he decided to compete from the chair.
Then, Akhilesh finally gave her nodding for the contest from Karhal.
The constituency is only 4 km from Saifai – Original Village SP Patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
He, and most family members have studied at Karhal’s Jain Inter College.
The constituency has been with SP since 1993 (SP appeared in 1992) except for 2002 assembly polls when sitting MLA SOBARAN Singh contested on BJP tickets.
After that, he joined SP and has won the election three times in a row.
For SP poll strategists, Karhal is an agreement made for Akhilesh in a total of 3.7 lakh voters, 1.4 lakh (or 37%) is YADAV, apart from 34,000 Shakhyas (OBC) and around 14,000 Muslims.
Most of the caste and other communities in the electoral district in Turf Yadav families traditionally support SP for years.
“We have our workers and leaders.
Karhal is one of the chairs where our party president does not have to win the election and will be able to concentrate on the campaign for another seat,” said a senior SP leader.
Political analyst feels that Akhilesh candidates will have an impact on the remaining seats from the Agra division but also on the constituency in the Kanpur and Aligarh division.
Previously, there was speculation that Akhilesh could oppose the election of the Gopalpur assembly chair from Azamgarh – the chosen parliamentary constituency in Akhilesh in the 2019 Sabha selection.
