Polling: BJP Fields Yogi from Gorakhpur

Lucknow: BJP allocating section Lion tickets for backwards even as it surprised by deploying CM Yogi AdityAnath from his chair, gorakhpur (urban) Candidates to be announced on Saturday.
Of these 107 seats, barring Gorakhpur (Urban) and Sirathu, the remaining 105 will go to polls in the first two phases.
As expected, the Deputy CM Keshav Maurya will compete from Sirathu in Kaushambi.
While Yogi, who has become a five-time MP from Gorakhpur, would oppose the election of the assembly for the first time, Maurya has won from Sirathu in 2012.
They will replace the sitting MLAs – RMD Agarwal and Sheetla Prasad.
Only 10 of the 107 candidates announced candidates for 57 of the 58 seats going to polls in the first phase, while the 48 names of the 55 constituencies in the second phase was announced.
Nominated for eight seats will be announced later, with some of them will go to Allied-Nishad Party and Apna Dal.
Of the 105 seats in the election to go to the first two phases, the BJP had won 86 in 2017.

OBC, which form the largest chunk of voters, considered essential to win the election.
The BJP managed to win the non-OBC YADAV after 2014 to significantly expand its social bouquet.

Akash Saxena has been derived from Rampur City, in what was seen as a reward for a legal battle he has done against SP Strowman of the area Azam Khan and his family.
Three former members of parliament, including Bhartendu Kunwar Singh of Najibabad, Dr Yashwant of Nagina and Babu Ram Chaudhary of Fatehpur Sikri, have also been given a ticket.
All three had lost the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 when the BJP facing the front of the SP-BSP.
Former Head of State and Chairman of the BJP Registration Committee, LAXMIKAN BAJPAYE and LEGISLATORS VETERAN DR RMD Agarwal are two important omissions.
Bajpayee who lost Haji Rafiq Ansari of SP in 2017 has been replaced by Kamal Dutt Sharma.
Toi veteran leader told that he has opted out.
“I did not ask for a ticket for children or my wife like everyone else,” hesaid, adding that he had asked to find workers and he would support her.
