Bhubaneswar: Their presence directorate on Wednesday took Pratap Kumar Samal, the deputy manager who was suspended from Odisha Police Housing and the Welfare Corporation (OPHWC), on two-day detention to be interrogated.
Samal was arrested on November 10 by anti-corruption wing to allegedly having around Rs 14.87 Crore in disproportionate assets.
The aim of taking Samal on detention is to question about financial and investment transactions and gather evidence.
“We found suspicious deposits for Rs 1.5 crore songs through cash, RTG and Neft in Bank Samal account and family members.
For more than the period, some Lakh Rupees are stored in their account.

Precautions also confirm the investment of Samal in Odia’s cinema.
Samal has committed an unregistered partnership act between his wife Sasmita Samal and her sister Namita Das for the production of two Odia films a few years ago.
The films were released under the production banners of Radha Krishna.
More than RS 50 lakh from unknown money seems to have been invested in the production of both films.
