Ponting questioned the British decision to choose Woakes over Wood

The former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has questioned the British decision to choose Chris Woakes in front of Mark Wood for the second ash test at Adelaide Oval.
Woates claimed one goal for 103 running at 23.4 The first innings during Australia took the test command, with the home team looking to build their opening victory from the series in Brisbane.
Ponting said the inclusion of Woakes over wood, which played on the first test, had had a detrimental impact on the influence of the British All-rounder Ben Stokes.
“It looked at me as if Stokes was given a job, to run in and bowl Bouncers Ball,” said Ponting to Cricket.com.au.
“When he finally got the chance for a bowl in the new batsman and threw the ball, he got the second ball of the goal (Cameron) green.” Woakes is ineffective anymore – I’m not sure why they bother picking him up at Adelaide when they already have wood there.
“For me, wood will give them more variations in their attacks and then Stokes can throw it and bend like normal sailors, good, and wood can take pale roles.” Ponting criticized the limited approach taken by the England captain Joe Root and his bowling attack.
“Apart from the Stokes of the short ball plan that was executed (on the first day), England did not seem to have many plans after that,” said Ponting.
“It was run and a bowl with a long and waiting for Australians to make mistakes.” Well, when you bowling to two of the top three batsmen in the world, they will not make mistakes.
You must find a way to remove it and change everything.
“Australia reached 473-9 before stating in the first half while England 17-2 in return at the end of the second day’s game.
