Patna: District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekar Singh has requested the executive officer Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) to do all the settings needed in 45 selected pools and large parks in the city for the Chhat Festival on November 8, saying besides Ghats, parks and pools nearby Different temples and other places will be used by worshipers to do rituals.
“When the surface of the water increases in some Ghats and there are also erosion and swamps, civil body officials have been asked to start cleaning and making the settings needed in the artificial pool and other water bodies,” said Singh.
“We must remember the extra safety protocol carefully for Covid-19.
Judge and police personnel will be deployed for the management of the crowd and traffic rules on the streets to the pool and park.
Change space and other facilities such as drinking water, lights and urinals will be there for worshipers, “said DM.
He said there were at least 8-10 large parks in the city where the body of water and pool was available, including Patna Zoo.
Overall 18 ponds are located in a new capital circle, six in Patliputra Circle, five in the Cankarbagh circle, four in BankiPore circle and two in the city circle Patna from PMC.
Rakesh Kumar Singh, Executive Officer of the New Capital Circle PMC, said the cleaning work had begun in 18 pools and water bodies.
“We dry the small pool to clean thoroughly, which will be done before Diwali.
Based on depth, the barricade will be carried out and the platform made for Chhat worshipers.
The work will be completed on November 4,” he said.
A Civic Body’s official BankiPore’s Circle said the pool in Buddhist Murti Park, Vivekanand Jha Park, Congress Ground and Atal Bihari Vajpayee Park would be prepared for Chhath Puja.
“In this water body, Ganga water will be poured,” he added.
