Jaipur: Svamitva Yojana ambitious the central government of the village mapping through a geographical information system (GIS) using drones is suffering due to poor coordination between the center and the country.
This scheme, launched in April 2020, has surveyed more than 50,000 villages throughout the country but only 136 in the state.
This scheme applies in nine states in the first phase.
Uttar Pradesh leads with 25,725 villages surveyed until now.
This scheme aims to create accurate land records in digital form which aims to empower villagers with land records, ultimately making them receiving financial schemes – loans, compensation etc.
Interestingly, the village all136 comes from one tehsil – Fatehpur in Jaisalmer, while no other village from other districts has a survey conducted.
Explain the relevance of air surveys, Ashish Modi, District Habistrate, Jaisalmer told TII, “This survey will help us in providing actual land use data and the extent to which land has been used in various categories.
The data available is very old and inaccurate.
This will be Help us in making high-value digital maps and framing the right policies utilizing resources wisely, “Modi said.
The process said that drones will be flown in certain areas after looking for valid permits from competent authorities.
Drones will collect images from different angles along with coordinates or geolocation.
The accuracy of drone mapping is much better than satellite images.
Experts say that in addition to land records, it can help in tracking green cover, MGNREGA work, and other schemes related to rural areas.
Although it is a bordered district, the Interior Ministry has given permission for flying drones for survey completion.
Modi said that soon, the survey would begin in other areas.
The data available on the website said that landowners in 38 villages were prepared by property cards.
Further sources said that the center had reminded the country to accelerate work to the Pancayati Department of Raj but the latter quoted logistical problems that cause delays.
Toi named Manju Rajpal, Secretary of the Pancayati Department Raj, for his comments about slow work steps but he was not available.
