Thiruvananthapuram: Poovachal Panchayat which was set to receive the Nava Kerala award for the best waste management practices has systematically applying good methods over the past few years.
Pancrayat takes into scientific waste management in 2018 in accordance with government norms through ‘Haritha Karma Sena.’ Karma Sena collects non-biodegradable waste from home and business and transports it to the destructive recycling unit.
Waste collected is sorted into various categories based on its characteristics.
According to the mission, Clean Kerala Company distributes grated plastic to local government to sheath the road.
The collection will be carried out based on user costs.
At first, houses must provide RS 20 and shops must provide Rs 50, but now has changed and houses must provide RS 50 and stores charged RS 100.
This number is provided for Haritha Karma Sena workers as part of their wages.
As part of TI Panchayat has established MCF (material collection facilities) throughout the environment and also places the MCF mini box in every Panchayat ward and in the market and hospital.
