Rome: Pope Francis sent condolences on Tuesday to the victims of the Christmas parade crash in Milwaukee who killed five people and said he prayed for “spiritual strength, who won over violence and overcoming crime well”.
The Secretary of the Vatican State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, sent Telegram condolences in the name of Francis to the Archbishop of Milwaukee, Monsignor Jerome Listecki.
Francis asked that those affected by “tragic incident” knew he was spiritually close to them, and asked “God to bestow all spiritual powers, who win over violence and overcome crime well.” Police said Darrell Brooks Jr., 39, was behind the SUV’s dream that drove through the Parade route in Waukesha on Sunday, killing the other five and injuring 48 others.
Police Chief Waukesha and Thompson said Brooks left the place of domestic disputes that had occurred just a few minutes before.
One of the legal cases was delayed against Brooks at that time he deliberately hit a woman with his car in early November after the fight.
