Lucknow: After recovering from Coronavirus infection at the age of 97, Mahanagar Resident Bishwamber Lal Verma has lost the ability to walk, but he can still vote for postal elections through postal elections.
According to the Indian Election Commission (ECI), there are a total of 24.42 lakh voters registered above 80 years in Uttar Pradesh.
Therefore, to facilitate the voters in October 2019, the Ministry of Law and Justice brought amendments to the behavior of elections and including senior citizens over 80 years and physical disabilities under the attendance voters.

After filling it properly, the 12D form must be submitted with the BLO within five days since the poll notification.

“After the form is submitted, it will be studied and the list of voters like that will be shared with political parties that can visit voter homes on the voting day.
Postal mailboxes along with sound paper will be provided where they can vote in secrecy,” officers said That, adding that the process will be carried out 24 hours before the actual vote under the supervision of the Returns Assistant (HR).
Eci official said, “Ballot Post exercises for 80 years above and Covid-19 patients will occur for the first time.”
