Washington: The US reported a record of Covid-19 infection, but the actual calculation might be significantly higher.
The average daily case reached around 405,000 in the past week, around 60% higher than the previous US summit in January 2021, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
But the number of tests reported by the state is still running below their 2021 highs.
Meanwhile, the positive level among the polymerase chain reaction test (PCR) was 17%, the highest since April 2020.
In New York City, one in three tests will return positively, according to data on December 31.
Together, the data shows Omicron has become so common that many infections are not detected, perhaps because the person uses a quick test at home or not at all.
Even when the variant finds more and more people, hospitalization, and death remains below the previous peak, strengthening the data agency that shows omicron less severe than Delta.
The US reported around 1,100 covid deaths a day, according to the average seven days which changed a little in the past month.
And reception of new hospital patients with Covid jumped 40% in a week to an average of 12,000 for the period of December 25-31, but remained below the peak of more than 16,000 years earlier.
The worst jurisdiction with the case is the country’s capital, New York, Puerto Rico, New Jersey and Florida.
From the group, only Washington D.C.
And New Jersey had more people at the hospital with Covid-19 who was confirmed than they did during the last winter surge.
Some schools and businesses have opposed the types of policies and closures they adopted in the past, even when the authorities are worrying that a number of infections and absence can affect business operations, hospitals and schools as the country returns from a winter holiday.
