Lucknow: As another academic year begins, Kendriya Vidyalaya (KVS) stares at the deficiency of the collective faculty of 17%.
On December 1, 2020, more than 8,000 empty faculty posts in KV throughout the country.
With 47% of vacancies, non-teaching posts in KVS projects worse.

RTI query was submitted by a law student and an activist, Aniket Gaurav, raised the total details of the number of sanctions and empty poles in KVS.
“Please provide the total number of approved posts and empty backup posts for SC, ST, OBC and PWD to position teaching and non-teaching at Kendryya Vidyalaya School,” Gaurav asked his RTI request to the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry Union education, in April.

Assistant Commissioner (Academic), KVS Head Office, Dharmendra Patle responded on December 1, 2020, at least 8,197 faculty posts from 48,923 posts approved lying empty.
