Post-covid children can become fussy eaters, find a study

While the loss of smell and taste is one of the acute symptoms of adults during Covid-19 infection and after that, a study by experts at the University of East of England and Fifth Indra, charity for people affected by the smell and disorders of this feeling can be the reason behind fussy eating habits among children.
This study said this disorder to someone would keep them from food because the food seemed to be a smell and unpleasant taste.
Distortion in odor and flavor because COVID-19 infection induced by Coronavirus has been strengthened by many researchers and experts.
During the beginning of the infection and also during the second wave of patients reported losing the smell and the taste they said continued even after the infection ended.
Such reports have not arrived at the ongoing third wave where the infection is caused by the omicron variant of Coronavirus.
Professor Carl Philpott from the University of East Anglia said he had begun to see teenagers with such disturbances.
“This is something that has not been truly recognized by medical professionals, who only think children become difficult eaters without realizing the underlying problems,” he told the BBC.
“For some children – and especially those who already have problems with food, or with other conditions such as autism – it can be very difficult,” he said.
In the difficulty of this disorder, the fifth sense said, “We have heard from some parents whose children suffer nutritional problems and have lost weight, but the doctor has dropped it to eat.” This study suggests encouraging children to try Bland food, to see what they can overcome or enjoy, and to try a soft nose clip while eating, to block the taste.
A research study also shows more disturbances in young people.
A research study published in Nature genetics on January 17, 2022 which talked about the genetic factors behind this disorder in Covid patients, has found that women tend to experience more than men and those who have these symptoms there are usually no such symptoms.
.
The study also shows that they with a high smell or sensitivity of the taste may be more vulnerable to seeing the loss of this sensibility resulting from Covid-19 infection.
