Nagpur: Empty posts have achieved city functions and rural regional transportation offices.
In the RTO countryside, the main post has been empty for the past two years and that in the city office it has been empty since March this year.
Deputy RTO Vinod Jadhav, who is actually the head of the East Office, has been temporarily responsible for the city office, while Deputy RTO (Wardha) Bajrang Kharmate has been given an additional accusation of RTO Rows in Kampree Road.
In addition, Kharmate also oversees his office administration work at Wardha.
Toi visited the RTO countryside, City RTO and the East Office, and saw a glimpse of affected work.
About 50 to 40 visitors waiting for hours every day here wondering whether the clerk will appear or not.
Question with the department officer revealed that there was no control over the senior for procedural delays in RTOS.
The source said Jadhav had found it difficult to oversee work in the city and eastern offices.
In such a scenario, the City of RTO and RTO (East) representative cannot function fully and only the half-day work carried out in each, said Ganesh Kanarkar Akhil Bhartiya Manavadhikar Nigrani Samiti.
Sources also show that the RTO office of the countryside requires more attention because the jurisdiction also includes Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli Regency.
But there is no full time RTO.
Full time RTO Wadekar takes voluntary retirement two years ago and his post has been lying empty since then.
The source shows that Kharmate is actually posted as Deputy Wardha RTO, which comes under the jurisdiction of the city of Nagpur RTO.
“Taking advantage of this, most employees from the three offices come late, which lead to the work of piling up,” Kanarkar said.
Marwah’s nail transport shows that the state transportation commissioner seems to be the least disturbed to fill the empty RTOS post here, which he claims have affected the smooth function of the three offices.
Quoting an example, Marwah said the transporter truck was detained by the city office for overloaded, but no senior officials to receive a good amount and heavy vehicles were stuck there for more than 15 days.
Marwah also accused corruption in the Department of Transportation has improved manifold.
Mahesh Pasi (Name Changed), a visitor in the RTO countryside, claimed to have visited the office for the past four days for international SIM.
“Every day I waited a few hours to sign the officer concerned.
But my job is still delayed,” he said.
Despite the repeat efforts, the Transport Commissioner Avinash Dhakne is not available for comments.
