Nagpur: Ahead of the discussion in a public body meeting on January 29 to determine the fate of the garbage collector the door to the door of Enviro and BVG India for various deviations, the Waste Management Department (SWM) Nagpur Corporation (NMC) (SWM) has claimed to have reached 70% separate waste in the Bhandewadi page.
Deputy Commissioner of the City (SWM) Dr.
Gajendra Mahalle said that of 1,100mt garbage produced in the city per day, AG Enviro and BVG India are now throwing around 548.28mt dry waste and 194.26mt.
“Only 138.57mt waste wasted dumped on January 23,” Dr.
Mahalle said.
NMC has banned vehicles from both companies to dispose of mixed waste in the Blandewadi and have issued an ultimatum for this effect, Dr.
Mahalle added.
The source of Yard Dumping Bandewadi told TII that on January 23, the SWM Department refused to allow trucks loaded with more than 200 million mixed garbage.
The city commissioner Radhakrishnan B has given an ultimatum to companies last year to lift only separate waste from the source from December 15 and so on.
However, the two companies failed because they did not get cooperation from residents in general.
In accordance with the data obtained from the SWM department, BVG India has increased more separate waste collections, compared to Ag Enviro.
BVG India has thrown around 250.8mt Wet waste and dry waste 125.02mt on the blandewadi page.
It collected 100% separate waste from the Gandhibagh zone, January 23 data was revealed.
Many residents of the Nehru Nagar zone are still handing over mixed garbage into the ‘Douts Swachhata’ from Ag Enviro, the department said.
Of the 14 mixed trips, six came from the Nehru Nagar zone.
Of the total garbage of 534.92MT collected through the door collection to Door, Ag Enviro has thrown out wet waste 297.4mt, dry waste 69.24mt and mixed garbage 97.85mt.
