Kolkata: The Central Investigation Bureau (CBI), as part of his investigation into cases of violence after the poll in West Bengal, held six people on Monday because of their alleged involvement in some criminal acts, criminal sources said.
According to these sources, the CBI official team visited the HOWRA district in the morning and detained six of them from the Domjur area.
The central agency has so far submitted 34 fir, and made three arrests in connection with cases of violence after the polls – two in Nadia and one in 24 North Parganas.
The Calcutta High Court, on August 19 ordered the investigation into cases suspected of being ranked and murder after the selection of assemblies was held by the CBI, recorded the NHRC report in this issue.
The West Bengal government has transferred the Supreme Court to challenge the orders of the High Court which directed the CBI investigation monitored by the court to these cases.
