Post-poll hardness: NHRC recommends CBI probe

Kolkata: confirms that the situation in West Bengal is “the legal manifestation of the ruler instead of ruling the law”, a NHRC committee investigated the alleged incident of violence after polls in the state, in a report placed by the Calcutta High Court, has recommended the CBI probe inward “Pain violations such as murder and rape”.
The committee, formed by the Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in a direction by five judges in the High Court, also said that these cases must be tried outside the country.
“The spatio-temporal expanse of the incidence of violence in the West Bengal state reflects the terrible apathy of the state government towards the fate of the victim”, he said.
“The Committee has recommended that sad violations such as murder, rape, etc.
must be submitted to the CBI for investigations and these cases must be tried outside the country,” the report was submitted before the court on June 13, said.
A group of pils submitted before the High Court accused that people experienced attacks, made to escape from home, and property was destroyed as a result of violence after the poll in Bengal.
“This is a retributive violence by party supporting in power towards supporters of the main opposition party,” the NHRC committee said in his scathing comment.
