Nagpur: Amravati City Police has formed a 35-member ‘Partner of the Civil Women’s Mitra (Civil Women’s Volunteers) to expand support and assistance to victims of sexual violence.
In the case of rape and sakinaka murder, Amravati CP Aarti Singh has decided to form a group of daughter volunteers to act as a ‘communication channel’ between police and women in trouble due to sexual or other cruelty.
The team has been selected itself by employees of Kuningan after examining their background and filtering it through an informal.cp Singh test saying the goal is to help the victims move with confidence without fear and hesitant.
“The aim is to examine the severity of the crime and stop it from achieving a greater magnitude,” he added that a 11-year-old girl was raped by a 35-year-old man in Amravati repeatedly before it was reported.
COP TOP said that volunteers must be connected with women and girls in bags and areas that are different from the aim of gaining confidence and allow the victims to approach them at the initial stage.
“Police often do not get the whole of the truth or facts.
From the victims because they did not share their situation at the police station.
This group of women will help the investigation team to achieve the depth of the problem and help the police in the probe,” he said.
Singh also said women’s groups would go to schools and colleges to remind young girls about what was a crime and how they could be reported.
“It is important for underage children to find out the difference between ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch’.
Teenagers need to know what is a crime,” Singh said added that female groups would immediately provide basic training to handle cases and provide guidance appropriate.
